Gujarat Carbon Sink Tracker

Carbon sinks are a critical component of the global climate system, absorbing CO₂ and moderating the impacts of climate change. Tracking their extent over time is essential to understand land use and shape policy decisions for a region's carbon balance.

The Gujarat Carbon Sink Tracker consolidates and visualises data on the state's carbon sequestration across a 10 year period between 2012–2022. The data is acquired from Global Land Cover (GLC) by Google Earth Engine and presented through interactive maps and time series graphs.

The Carbon Sink Tracker allows users to explore spatial patterns and temporal trends and is intended to serve as an accessible reference for researchers and policy makers.
